Meet Nakita
Nakita Monique Weems is an abstract visual artist whose primary focus is edifying, comforting, and encouraging those who are drawn to her art.
She is currently located in Dallas, Texas. Growing up, Nakita Monique was accepted into Emerson, a Visual and Performing Arts School in Gary, Indiana where she majored in Art.
Her career as an artist truly began in the midst of a global pandemic; where she re-discovered art as a form of therapy for herself. She maintains a sense of purpose through the fulfillment of each piece as she receives prophetic unctions to guide her hands. Her pieces are an outlet, creating beauty from ashes during a time when the world seems very bleak.
Countless people have enjoyed the work Nakita creates, and as a result seeds were sown into creating a process; that developed her art from a simple gift and transformed it into a deeply rooted passion that fulfills purpose.
Nakita has the eyes to see how a focal piece can shift the atmosphere of a home into a positive environment. Through her unique vision she enjoys creating and bringing beauty to the homes of many. A statement piece, which is the centerpiece of a home, can accurately set the tone and express the desired ambiance within the space.
She is influenced by unique and authentic pieces. Her inspirations are numerous as she can see an array or blend of colors, a pattern, and a painting is ignited. Several techniques are utilized including but not limited to pouring, stroking, scraping, blending, and texturing. With a wide array of abstract pieces; Her work is uniquely abstract, thought provoking, and symbolic in nature. No piece will ever be exactly the same as she believes each piece has something that it needs to speak. She utilizes many mediums as well, such as acrylic paint, chalk, pouring mediums, molding paste, markers, gold leaf, and various metallic paints.

Nakita Monique has redefined herself and her gifts. Her love for aesthetics came about through her past experience being a hairstylist; who has now transmuted her passion for beauty, styles, and looks into abstract art. Nakita has had the privilege of freelancing, running her own online store, and selling her art. Although her work has its challenges such as bouts of artist’s block in the middle of the creative process, she has developed the ability to interpret the needs of the work. She looks forward to finishing each piece and says the rewards are endless.

In her personal life, she enjoys traveling, hairstyling, being a mom of 5 and a plant mom of many. She frequently uplifts and encourages those around her to be their truest self and live purpose filled lives. She hopes that her audience is inspired and appreciates the restorative power of healing and emotional liberty that her art addresses and radiates.
